About Me
Danita A. Byrd, LPC., LMHC., MS
Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
Certified Holistic Therapist
My mission is to help ambitious women heal from stress and anxiety while navigating family obligations by integrating sound healing, breath-work, and meditation into their wellness journey. I am dedicated to creating a supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself, find balance, and cultivate a sense of peace amidst life’s demands.
Approaches: In my work I integrate a variety of Holistic therapeutic approaches. I use a collaborative evidence based approach to counseling with the following modalities; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Holistic Therapy techniques. My goal for each session is address your unique needs and the personality of each individual client. It’s important that my clients feel my compassion, empathy, humor and straight forward approach in sessions.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. (www.APA.org)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles which help clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on their problems.
Holistic psychotherapy, an integrative approach grounded in breath work, meditation, sound baths and yoga poses. My practice addresses the whole person; mind, body, and spirit.
“Therapy is not magic. It’s a journey through life’s challenges with no judgement and a professional by your side.” ~ Danita Byrd

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a holistic therapist do? Holistic therapists help people improve their overall health and well-being by addressing their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. They may use a variety of methods including meditation, yoga and alternative therapies.
How many sessions will I need? While the number of therapy sessions can vary depending on several factors; Solution focused therapy tends to be brief and goal oriented. Adding a holistic approach tends to take longer as we are addressing the whole person and it involves deep work/techniques. Depending on your goals, treatment could last 5 to 10 sessions.
Do you accept insurance? No. I find that working with some insurance panels can add pressure to see more people at a lower rate that can lead to burnout. I also value my clients privacy and insurance claims often require diagnostic codes and personal information to be shared for approval of payment. I prefer to keep your stories private.
How often will we meet? We will meet weekly. As we progress towards your goals we will reevaluate the frequency of your sessions.
